1000th Morgan 3 Wheeler body Leaves our Walsgrave Facility
In celebration of our 1000th Morgan 101 leaving our Walsgrave facility, we threw open our doors to some of our most distinguished guests, including a number from the Morgan Motor Car Company, Jaguar Land Rover and elected Members of Parliament. We invited the Lord Mayor of Coventry, Councillor Gary Crookes, to attend. He kindly said a few words and cut the ribbon on the 1000th Morgan body.
The collaboration with the Morgan Motor Company has been one of our most proud success stories. The iconic design of the Morgan 3 Wheeler has been updated with 21st Century technology and Premier Group has been instrumental assisting the car bodyshell design and manufacture.
In 2010 the Morgan Motor Company decided to revisit an icon that had not been produced for 60 years, by re-engineering the much-loved, Morgan 3 Wheeler. Taking inspiration from the original car but with modern technological influences, the initial plan was to build 400 Morgan 3 Wheelers, but due to it’s incredible global success, November 2013 sees the production of the 1,000th Morgan 3 Wheeler.
Premier Group have been working with The Morgan Motor Company for the past 5 years. This particular contract has seen Premier Group work with Morgan throughout the initial design stage of the 3 Wheeler to ensure all body panels could be manufactured to the highest standards expected by Morgan’s loyal customer-base.
Wayne Woolford, MD at Premier Group, said, “The 12 November manufacture of the 1000th 3-Wheeler body at our Walsgrave facility marks the continuation of a significant automotive build process representing a major success story for British and Midlands manufacturing.”
