Senior Premier Group Staff Honoured

On Tuesday 28th January, 5 of our longest serving members of staff each received a gold watch in recognition for their hard work and commitment over the years with Premier Group.

The ceremony took place at County Hall in Coventry, followed by a lunch in the Armoury, which was hosted by the Lord Mayor, Councillor Gary Crookes. Presentations were carried out by the Lord Mayor to the following staff members:

  • Doug Allsopp: Press Setter/Operator. Doug joined us in 2003 and is now 65 years old, continuing to work four days a week.
  •  Brian Copson: Sheet Metal Worker. Brian has been with us since 1997, he is also 65 and still works full time! (Brian’s son completed his apprenticeship with us and now works for Rolls Royce Aerospace).
  • Richard Bibb: Sheet Metal Worker since 1999, Richard retired at Christmas 2013. A well deserved retirement, thank you Richard!
  • David Yeomans is also 65 years old and still works full time.
  • Paul Faulconbridge: Sheet Metal Worker since joining us in 1995. He still works full time, but is soon looking forward to spending more time at Brandon Woods Golf Club!

Denis Meagher: “The success of Premier Group has only been possible due to the extraordinary skills that each of you have developed over the years with Premier Group. I thank each and every one of you, and a special thank you to your wives for putting up with the hours that you have given to Premier Group!”

The ceremony was, appropriately, conducted at the same time as our Chairman presented a 2012 Olympic Torch, design engineered and manufactured by Premier Group, to the City of Coventry. The Lord Mayor said: “… I would like to pay tribute to Premier Group, Denis Meagher, the Chairman and all the firm’s staff in producing the torch and presenting this fine example of local craftsmanship to our City.”
